Gelisim Law Student Club Conducted a Vocational Training on the Examination of Murder Cases

Gelişim Law Student Club organized a study on “Investigation of Murder Cases with Prof. Dr. Çağlar Özdemir” in order to increase the knowledge of law faculty students about murder cases. Held on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Istanbul Medeniyet University Ziraat Bank Library Conference Hall, the workshop was free of charge and open to our university students, staff and the public.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Çağlar ÖZDEMİR primarily discussed the concepts of crime and criminals and explained the functioning of autopsy, crime scene investigation and morgue processes in criminal cases. ÖZDEMİR emphasized that the criminal justice system should function effectively for a peaceful society and that these processes should be carried out within the framework of respect for fundamental rights and freedoms. Mr. ÖZDEMİR, who has been an expert witness in many murder cases that resonated in the public opinion, shared his experiences with the participants with various visual materials (taking into account the KVKK).

ÖZDEMİR’s speech was followed by questions and answers from the participating students. In the study carried out within the scope of vocational training, an important educational environment was created where students blended theory and practice.
