The Sustainability Office Attended the Rectorate Coordination Meeting

The Rectorate of Istanbul Medeniyet University organized a series of meetings with university units to support the work carried out by our university units and to gather information. One of these meetings was held with the Sustainability Office on September 23, 2025, in the Central Library meeting room. The meeting, chaired by our Rector Prof. Dr. Gülfettin Çelik and attended by our Vice Rectors, was also attended by the Sustainability Office coordinator Prof. Dr. Yaşar BÜLBÜL and office staff member Research Assistant Furkan ERUÇAR.

The meeting began with a presentation of Prof. Dr. Yaşar BÜLBÜL, our office coordinator. BÜLBÜL provided information about the work carried out by the Sustainability Office during the period, both independently and in collaboration with the IMU Sustainability Student Club. He emphasized the progress made in recent years in international indices, which hold an important place in our university’s vision, and the recycling and upcycling projects carried out by the Sustainability Office, which is one of the elements of this progress. Research Assistant Furkan ERUÇAR highlighted the positive results of the collaboration between the office and the student club and stated that they would like to develop projects, especially in the area of social responsibility, in the coming period. The meeting also included an exchange of ideas on our university’s sustainability goals for the coming period.

Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Gülfettin Çelik, emphasized the importance of projects and activities that contribute to achieving our university’s goal of international recognition and zero waste vision in his assessment at the meeting.

The meeting concluded with an update on the office’s activities and a mutual exchange of ideas on activities that could be targeted and implemented in the coming periods.
