On March 14, 2021, “1st Faculty of Law Students Conference on Child Law and Education Law” was held with the cooperation of Istanbul Medeniyet University Faculty of Law and Ideal Medeniyet Law Club, a student club of our university.
The conference started with the opening speech of Asst. Prof. Murat Bülbül, Chairman of the Conference Organizing Committee. Bülbül gave information about the organization process of the congress. Later, Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences Prof. Halil İbrahim Sağlam and Dean of the Faculty of Law Prof. İbrahim Subaşı stated the importance of addressing children’s rights during the COVID-19 pandemic and of organization of such an event, which will be the first in Turkey, by undergraduate students.
At the conference, various topics such as Mandatory Vaccinations for Children, Children in the Street Environment, a Child’s Right to Participate in the Family and School Environment, Sexual Health Education in Children, Child Abuse, Substance Abuse in Children were discussed by the students. During the sessions moderated by Res. Asst. Seval Kılıç, our students successfully presented their papers and the questions of the participants were answered.
