The purpose of the protocol is to support students preparing for aptitude tests for conservatory admission and train future artists. For this purpose, IMU will lend scientific and academic support to young adults who take music courses at the art academy established by Gaziosmanpaşa Municipality and help them prepare for conservatory.

This protocol is an important step to boost young people’s success in the arts. Upcoming activities within the context of the protocol will be coordinated by the Department of Turkish Music at the Faculty of Arts Design and Architecture.

The ceremony which took place also in the Art Academy established by the municipality started with a beautiful recital by music students attending the academy. Following the recital, the protocol was signed. In order to highlight the significance of the protocol Rector Çelik remarked “Art is essential for shaping our future. In the past, there might have been periods when art did not attract adequate investment due to rapid urbanization and industrialization. In our new orientation collaborative relationships for arts and culture are indispensable.” The mayor also spoke in the ceremony and had the following words “Our civilization has strong roots. It is necessary to foster our civilization and culture by planting new seed and raising the next generation. Within the possibilities of our district municipality, we dreamed of carrying this dream to future and collaborated with Istanbul Medeniyet University.”

We wish this protocol will be beneficial to our university and our country.
