As Istanbul Medeniyet University, we see education as a process that is far beyond vocational training. For this reason, we prioritize supporting the personal development of our students in addition to their professional training. IMU Modern Dance Club, one of the student clubs of our university, started to organize dance classes open to all interested parties as of October this year, as it does every year.
IMU Modern Dance Club organized Hip Hop classes at our University two days a week throughout the year. The trainings given by Ege KONAKOĞLU, a student of our university and one of the founders of the IMU Modern Dance Club, were held in the foyer area of Block K in the North Campus, open to public participation. By providing the opportunity to participate in the dance classes from outside the institution, the participants were provided with the opportunity to socialize and improve themselves as well as having fun by dancing.
With these classes organized every week, the student club aimed to bring the inclusive aspect of dance to the educational environment at the university and to provide inclusive education by gathering students under one roof. Regardless of gender, language, religion, race, age, etc., 30 people were given dance training throughout the year in the trainings that offered an equal environment to every student and offered them the opportunity to gain a new talent.
