IMU Theater Club operating under the academic advisory of Asst.Prof. Rüstem MÜRSELOĞLU of IMU Performing Arts Department greeted the audience with the play “Fehim Paşa Mansion” on June 3. The Theater Club opened its curtains to the audience in the first week of June and with their play which was open to the public free of charge, they not only contributed to local art and cultural heritage but also provided motivation to the students before the final exams.
Rector Prof. Dr. Gülfettin ÇELİK, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih SARI, and Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Ekrem TAK also watched the play which was performed in our Aşık Paşa Conference Hall and received great interest from the members academic and administrative staff and university students.
The play, which won the grand prize for its author Turgut ÖZAKMAN in 1979, focused on a father-son story in the last days of Abdulhamid II on the eve of the Second Constitutional Monarchy, a turning point in our history, and gave the audience enjoyable moments.
After the performance, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih SARI, Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Ekrem TAK, and our faculty members presented certificates of appreciation signed by our rector to the students and those who contributed to the play.
