Istanbul Medeniyet University Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, Department of Turkish Music students took the stage at the “Ney Recital” event held on March 11, 2025 at our North Campus.
In the recital conducted by Prof. Dr. Ali Tan, Muhammed Emin Pala, Muhammed Emin Yurt, Nurbanu Önver and Ramazan Şimşek presented a repertoire of rare works of Turkish Music. The works performed in Hicaz, Bayati, Acemaşiran and Acem Kürdi maqams gave the audience an unforgettable musical feast.
The event, which was organized to promote Turkish Music, featured a wide range of composers from Neyzen Emin Dede to Gavsi Baykara, reflecting the elements of our local art and intangible cultural heritage. The audience had the opportunity to experience the richness of our classical music once again with the unique timbre of the ney instrument.
