Our University Blockchain Student Club Organised the II. Crypto Summit, Emphasising the Importance of Technology Development and Process Innovation

Blockchain Student Club, one of the student clubs of our university, organised the II.Crypto Summit in partnership with the Journal of Law and Informatics. The summit was held on November 08, 2023 at Istanbul Medeniyet University Ziraat Bank Conference Hall, open to the participation of our students, staff and the public.

With this event, it was aimed to introduce Blockchain technology to the participants, to closely follow the rapid changes in the technology world, to explain how DApps (decentralised applications) work and to emphasise the women’s employment in the crypto scene. It was also aimed to inform about the compliance processes of crypto asset exchanges in Turkey and the legal rules in the metaverse world.

Hilal BAKTAŞ, co-founder of Crypto Female, spoke about the impact of women in the crypto scene and the importance of ensuring that women are given equal opportunities in decision-making mechanisms for women’s leadership at all levels. Cryptocurrency expert Mete BAŞKAYA explained the basics of Blockchain to the students in an explanatory way and reinforced the basic knowledge in this field. Murat KOÇUK, an experienced person who took part in the establishment of Alo Club, one of the first GSM projects in Turkey, talked about the positive effects of technology development and process innovation on economic development and what needs to be done for this. Law and Informatics Journal General Coordinators Atty. Ali ERŞİN and Atty. Cemal ARAALAN gave a comprehensive speech on cryptocurrency regulations and legal measures to be taken to prevent corruption and bribery in the metaverse world. In this process, networking opportunities were created among the participants and information was exchanged about innovations in the sector.

This event offered an important educational opportunity to students interested in Blockchain technology and the legal dimension of crypto assets and aimed to raise awareness about the technologies of the future.
