A Seminar Series Titled “Autism Spectrum Disorder from the Teaching Perspective” Held

Within the scope of the Community Service Practices course given by Prof. Yeşim Güleç Aslan, an event was organized by Eda Demir, Buse Yalçın, Merve Nur Demirci, Nisanur Akyüz, Rabia Karabacak and Şerife Akdeniz, students of the Preschool Education Department. The activity has been planned to contribute to the transformation of future teachers’ working environments into effective teaching environments, including all individuals with special needs. In addition, it is aimed to support the necessary pre-service education so that teacher candidates who will work with preschool children can create inclusive education environments.

Within the scope of the event carried out in cooperation with the Special Education and Preschool Education Departments, a seminar series titled “A View of Autism Spectrum Disorder from the Window of Teaching” was held. The first session of the seminars was conducted by Dr. Emine Ayyıldız at 13:30 on Thursday, April 1, 2021. The second session was held by Ayşe Büşra Subaşı Yurtçu on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at 13:30. The seminar series, in which critical experiences and suggestions about Autism Spectrum Disorder were shared with the teacher candidates in our faculty, ended after the question and answer session.
