A capacity-building training called “Fire Teams Training” was organized by our University’s Department of Health, Culture and Sports in order to ensure the safety of our administrative staff in case of fire. The training, which was held face-to-face at our university Ziraat Bank Conference Hall on June 16, 2022, was given by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department. 50 administrative personnel attended the training, which was offered free of charge.
During the training, theoretical information and statistical data about fire were presented to the participants. Fire classes and extinguishing methods of these fires were mentioned. The importance of personnel training and drills on disaster risk reduction was emphasized. After the theoretical training, the participants were shown practically how to intervene in a fire.
