Forensic Document Analysis Workshop Held by IMU Informatics and Information Club

In collaboration with Forensic Evidence Laboratory, Istanbul Medeniyet University Informatics and Information Club (BİLEN) organized a briefing and workshop on the subject of forensic document analysis, which is very important in the functioning of a fair legal system. The event was held at the Forensic Evidence Laboratory in Bakırköy on November 5, 2022 with Forensic Science Specialist and also the owner of Forensic Evidence Laboratory, Ali BEKTAŞ.

In the workshop offered free of charge to 12 participants as part of professional training, BEKTAŞ provided practical information on cases related to forensic document examination and the types of forgery incidents that occur. He explained that forensic document review is the examination and analysis of documents used in a criminal case or a legal case. He stated that these documents usually include official records, documents, contracts, correspondence, bank statements, invoices and other financial records.

BEKTAŞ further stated that forensic document analysis is important for the collection, verification and interpretation of evidence related to a criminal event or a legal case. He emphasized that this review ensures that the judicial process is carried out correctly and fairly and contributes to the rule of law.

In the workshop held after the briefing, the club members tried to detect the fake signature through their known and questioned signatures. This event made a significant contribution to raise awareness about the functioning of a fair legal system.
