IMU Bilgi Club Donated 5,500 Books to Village Schools as part of the Library Enrichment Project

Bilgi Student Club of our university established two school libraries with the aim of ensuring equal opportunity in education within the scope of the social responsibility project. As part of the project sponsored by Üsküdar Municipality and Siirt Foundation, two libraries were established and opened to students’ use in Siirt Pervari Dolusalkım Primary and Secondary School on May 17, 2022.

In the project, which was carried out with the notion that access to equal opportunities in education is important for every individual of the society, the established libraries were named as “Medeniyet Bilgi Library” and “Dolusalkım Library”. A total of 5500 books, 3000 for the primary school and 2500 for the secondary school, were added to the collection. This enrichment aimed to strengthen the learning opportunities of the school’s students.

Club advisor Res. Asst. Nisa ÖKTEM and the Chairman of the Board of the Group Hacer PERGEL, Vice Chairman Zeynep KABAK, Sümeyye KAPLAN and Auditor Esma EKİN attended the library opening ceremony. The opening attracted great attention with the participation of Siirt Foundation Branch Manager Nevzat Amcalar, 150 students and the people of Dolusalkım village.
