IMU Psychology Club Organized an Aid Event for Refugees

Psychology Club, one of the student clubs of our university, organized a charity sale on 29-30 November 2021 in cooperation with Kutu Kutu Tebessüm Foundation.

In this event, which was held with the participation of club members, the target audience for aid was determined as refugees living in Adana. In line with the goal to empower and promote the social, economic and political inclusion of all, irrespective of age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion or economic or other status, the event was designed to provide the refugees in the region with their basic needs and to support education processes for the children in particular.

For the empowerment activities, tables were first set up for two days in the South Campus canteen of our university and club members held a charity sale and sold their own prepared food. The income obtained was given to the refugees living in Adana through the cooperative foundation. In addition, items such as clothes, coats, books, and toys collected as a result of aid were packaged with the contributions of community members and prepared to be distributed.

Thanks to this event, a helping hand was extended to refugees in the fight against poverty in Adana, which is a significant contribution to empowering everyone in the society and building a sustainable community by reducing inequalities. The event also played a role in strengthening social welfare and social solidarity.
