Istanbul Medeniyet University Theater Student Club performed the theater performance “Civil Comedy”, consisting of three short plays called “Illegal Therapy”, “Olsa da Ölse” and “A Marriage Proposal”, on February 26, 2025 at the Aşık Paşa Conference Hall.
The declaration of 2025 as the Year of the Family was also reflected in the repertoire of the group, and the theme of family came to the fore in the plays. The performance featured Anton Chekhov’s “A Marriage Proposal”, one of our graduate students Arif İsa Akten’s “Illegal Therapy”, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rüstem Mürseloğlu’s “Olsa da Ölse”, who also directed the play.
In the show where human relations, social norms and absurd situations were discussed with humorous elements and contributed to local art, the energy and performances of the actors were greatly appreciated. At the end of the program attended by our students, academic and administrative staff and invited guests, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seda Tüfekçioğlu, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, presented certificates of appreciation to the students of the group.
Istanbul Medeniyet University Theatre Group will continue to introduce new plays to art lovers throughout the year.
