Our Faculty Members’ Innovative Project on Developing a Domestic Engine Room Training Simulator and Simulator Design Software is Accepted for Support by TUBITAK

The project titled “Development of Ship Engine Room Training Simulator and Simulator Design Software“, in which faculty members of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences of Istanbul Medeniyet University took charge, was deemed eligible to be supported from the grant fund within the scope of 1501 TÜBİTAK Industry R&D Projects Support Program. The project will be carried out by Asst. Prof. İbrahim GENÇ of IMU Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Assoc. Prof. M. Fatih HOCAOĞLU of IMU Department of Industrial Engineering, along with Prof. Güven GONCA and Assoc. Prof. Görkem KÖKKÜLÜNK from Yıldız Technical University Naval Architecture and Maritime Faculty.

The project aims at product and process innovation by manufacturing a domestic engine room training simulator for commercial and military ships which will be capable of simulating ship engine room and auxiliary systems and developing a simulator design program to simulate all kinds of ships. For this purpose, a flexible infrastructure will be created where the machine and system parameters can be changed with dynamic system design, and it will be ensured that the developed modules can be applied to different machines and systems of different ships. The project aims to contribute to domestic production by supporting creativity and innovation in production activities and is expected to play an important role in supporting development-oriented policies.

We congratulate our faculty members for their technological projects and wish them continued success.
