Our University’s Medeniyet Techno Student Club Organizes the 6th of “Medeniyet Technology Days” to Empower our Students in their Career Development

The 6th of Medeniyet Technology Days, which was made a tradition by the Medeniyet Techno Club of our university, was held on 23 November 2022. Batuhan DÜZGÜN, who works as a Technical Leader at Trendyol, and Burak ARAL, who works as a Senior Development Engineer at Mercedes-Benz, attended this eagerly awaited event as speakers.

The first speaker, Batuhan DÜZGÜN, talked to the participants about what should be considered when starting the sector and the experiences they can gain during their career, with the awareness of increasing the ratio of young and adults with information and communication technologies skills. DÜZGÜN talked about the goals he tried to change companies in the process of moving to Trendyol, and what he and the companies paid attention to in this process. In line with the experience he gained, he emphasized that the most basic feature that a good software developer should have is “to be able to ask strong questions”. He also explained how the quality of the questions asked to explore the software sector, which is one of the priority areas in economic development, adds to the person.  Later, in his presentation, he showed on graphics the areas where he preferred software languages ​​and which positions the software developers in Turkey were working in the companies. He also talked about what developments await software developers in the future. He ended the session by making recommendations about which approaches to take in the face of problems and how to be solution-oriented.

In the second session, Burak ARAL started his speech by explaining which steps he climbed the career ladder. Talking about the places where he received training and internship, he emphasized that the most important step to be included in this sector is to evaluate learning opportunities and strengthen technical knowledge. He talked about the manufacturing innovations in bus production of Mercedes-Benz Turkey, which has an important place in the sector and many students would like to work with, and how international connections were established. He mentioned what features the engineers work on according to their own fields while producing the vehicles, and what points are paid attention in the projects where production investments will be made. He explained how the software processes work by comparing the company’s work abroad and in Turkey, in order to set an example for the skills that students who complete their education should acquire. Finally, he explained the systems used by the company and the stages of mass production to the participants in detail and ended the event by answering all the questions of the participants.
