The project titled as “Social Structure and Values Research in Turkey” led by Assoc. Dr. Lütfi Sunar, of the Department of Sociology of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, was completed. Within the scope of the research carried out by ARGETUS Research Company, “social effects of Covid-19 and society’s approaches to vaccines” were analyzed.

As part of the Social Structure Research Program (TYAP), a result of the research conducted by Assoc. Dr. Lütfi Sunar, the analysis report deals with the socio-economic effects of the pandemic in Turkey and the view of the society towards the vaccine.

The research, which was conducted with face-to-face interview technique with 1017 people in 12 provinces, takes a comprehensive picture of social relations and daily life in the pandemic. In order to shed light on the recently intensified debate on vaccines, individuals were also asked about their thoughts and preferences for vaccination within the scope of the research. It was possible to see the impact of the pandemic on social life in the study, which was carried out by selecting a sample in Turkey to reflect the differences according to different professions, age groups, and education levels. With the research, it became possible to analyze the impact of Covid-19 according to different social components. With the analysis evaluating many factors from daily life to working life, from family relationships to social distance, it has also been revealed how the society has been affected by the pandemic and how it is seen in these days when vaccination studies have just started.
