Sustainability Projects Carried Out as part of the Community Service Course

The third-year students in the Turkish Language Teaching Department of Istanbul Medeniyet University Faculty of Educational Sciences collected donations by reaching to their immediate circles via social media in order to donate saplings to TEMA Foundation under the guidance of their instructor Prof. Dr. Özlem Fedai as part of the Social Service Practices course. Since they took this lesson during the pandemic period, they chose such an activity in order to do the greatest service to nature without contacting people. The fundraising process was carried out without contact over the IBAN written on the poster. The sapling donation collected in approximately 45-50 days was transferred to the TEMA Foundation over the internet and an e-certificate was obtained and the project was completed.

As part of the Social Service Practices course, the third-year students in Istanbul Medeniyet University Turkish Education Department realized many projects such as planting saplings, feeding hungry stray animals, cleaning and shopping for the homes of the elderly in need by obeying the rules during the pandemic period, supplying stationery materials to the schools in need in our country, supplying sports shoes, cleaning the mosque, making social educational videos, and supporting home meals for healthcare professionals under the direction of  Prof. Dr. Özlem Fedai.
