The 5th Obstetrics and Gynecology Days Symposium, organized by Istanbul Medeniyet University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in partnership with the Turkish Gynecology and Obstetrics Association, was held on October 8-9, 2022 at our University’s South Campus Âşık Paşa Conference Hall under the theme “Ovulation Induction- IUI and Endoscopic Surgery in Infertility”.
The symposium, chaired by Prof.Dr. Abdülkadir TURGUT, a faculty member of our Faculty of Medicine, included 30 session chairs and 42 speakers. In line with the goal of significantly increasing the employment, development, training and continuity of the health workforce, specialist physicians in women’s reproductive health, “Understanding Ovulation, Drugs and Approach to the Patient,” “Evaluation of the Infertile Couple,” “Ovulation Induction,” “Ovulation Induction in High Risk Patients,” “Triggering Ovulation, IUI and Luteal Support,” “Unexpected Situations and Management in Ovulation Induction”, In the sessions titled “Approach in Gynecological Pathologies in Infertility” and “Endoscopic Surgery in Infertility”, topics such as ovulation induction therapy in various diseases associated with infertility, patient evaluation and agents and methods used in treatment were discussed.
In the oral presentation sessions, various topics related to women and maternal health such as pregnancy in Covid-19, ovarian tumors, cervical cancers, ectopic pregnancy, infertility, cancers, cesarean delivery, osteoporosis in menopause, postpartum mental health, gestational diabetes, and vaccines in pregnancy were discussed.
