Held for the third time this year at Istanbul Medeniyet University, the Medeniyet Olympics showcased not only athletic achievements but also projects and student successes that contribute to our university’s vision of social responsibility. At the grand awards ceremony held on May 15, 2026, in the university’s Aşık Paşa Conference Hall, the IMU Sustainability Club left its mark on the event with its outstanding performance in both the group and individual categories of the “Social Responsibility” awards.
By securing first place in the “Student Clubs Category” for the third consecutive year, the IMU Sustainability Club set a record that will be hard to break. IMUSUS continued to make concrete and sustainable contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through numerous high-quality social responsibility projects it has developed not only on campus but also at the local and national levels. Our society’s clear first-place finish this year was officially confirmed following the jury’s meticulous evaluations.
IMUSUS;
– Social responsibility projects supported by the university,
– Social responsibility projects funded or supported by other institutions and organizations,
– The university’s representation in national and international competitions in the field of social responsibility and the awards it has won,
among other criteria, secured first place with a total of 517 points. This score is the clearest indication of our club’s systematic, disciplined, and multifaceted work ethic.
IMUSUS’s success at the club level was crowned by the individual achievements of its members. The tradition continued in the “Social Responsibility Projects – Individual Category” and the top three spots were once again claimed by our club’s productive members for the third consecutive year.
Our list of achievements in the individual category is as follows:
First Place: Livanur İnan and Bedrihan Yalta,
Third Place: Şirin Beyza Özbey
The award recipients, invited to the stage amid the applause of the academics and students filling the Aşık Paşa Conference Hall, received their awards directly from our Rector, Prof. Dr. Gülfettin ÇELİK. Our Rector congratulated the successful students who won the awards, the club president who served as the driving force behind this major event, and the academic advisor who has provided guidance since the club’s inception, and presented them with their awards.
At the awards ceremony, our club once again demonstrated that a sustainable future can only be built through collective consciousness, showcasing this motivation not only through individual achievements but also as a group. We would like to thank the entire IMUSUS family, our members, and our supporters who have been working for the past three years on numerous social responsibility projects to make the world and our campus a better place to live.
We will continue to work and create without pause toward a sustainable future and new achievements!
