Therapy Schools/ Case Studies Event Series was Organized for our Counseling and Guidance Students

IMU PDR Student Club completed the event series called “Therapy Schools”. The first part of the two-part event was held on December 29, 2021 at Cevizli campus of Istanbul Medeniyet University.

The event was organized as a vocational training for our Counseling and Guidance Students and to support the participants’ mental health and psychological well-being. The first part of the event was carried out with a case study in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Fulya TÜRK from Istanbul Medeniyet University Faculty of Educational Sciences Department of Educational Sciences. After sharing basic information about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the therapy process was exemplified within the framework of a specific case.

The second part of the “Therapy Schools” series was held on May 13, 2022 as an online event with the participation of psychiatrist Dr. İbrahim BİLGEN. In the event, the theoretical framework for Acceptance and Commitment Therapy was first explained, then the formulation process was discussed through a case. With a lot of animations, the event attracted attention from outside participants as well as IMU Counseling and Guidance students.
