Turkish Music Department Faculty Members Performed at the Opening of TÖMER

Our university’s Turkish Music Department faculty members, Asst.Prof.Dr. Seda TÜFEKÇİOĞLU, and Asst.Prof.Dr. Erdal KILIÇ performed  on November 16, 2022, at IMU Aşık Paşa Conference Hall to celebrate the opening of TÖMER (Turkish and Foreign Languages Research and Application Center).

In the first part of the program KILIÇ performed Turkish Music classics including “Ey Büti Nev Eda Olmuşum Müptela,” “Hicran Oku Sinem Deler,” and “Fikrimin İnce Gülü” and TÜFEKÇİOĞLU accompanied him with her Kanun. For the second part, Asst.Prof.Dr. Seda TÜFEKÇİOĞLU ‘s performance of Saz Musikisi forms reflected the elegance of the Kanun and showcased the richness of Turkish music, taking the audience on an unforgettable musical journey.

The performance of our faculty members once again reminded the importance of local art while inviting the audience to capture the spirit of Turkish music. The event celebrated the unique beauties of Turkish music and emphasized the place of our traditional arts in the modern world.
