A Seminar Focusing on Psychological Well-being was Held at our University

Psychology Department and Psychology Application and Research Center of our university continued their organization of the “IMU 3rd Career Days in Psychology” event. As part of these activities, on May 9, 2023, Tuesday, at 10:00 AM, Asst.Prof.Dr. Nesteren GAZIOGLU from the Department of Psychology, Maltepe University, delivered a speech titled Systematic Approach in Working with Couples and Families“.

In his speech, GAZİOĞLU addressed the topic of a systematic approach in practices such as couples and family therapy, and provided participants with information about the methods, strategies, and effective communication techniques used in this field.

GAZİOĞLU emphasized the importance of psychological well-being in couple and family relationships and shared practical knowledge with the participants regarding strategies and communication techniques that support psychological well-being. In this regard, GAZİOĞLU stated that psychological well-being in couples and families involves positive communication, emotional support, healthy conflict resolution, mutual respect, and trust. Additionally, GAZİOĞLU expressed that factors such as resilience, adaptability, and the ability to effectively cope with challenges and stressors can also be considered within the scope of psychological well-being. Finally, GAZİOĞLU highlighted that psychological well-being in couples and families contributes to supporting the growth and development of individuals, creating a positive and nurturing environment, and strengthening the bonds among family members.

GAZİOĞLU’s speech served as an important resource for participants to enhance their professional knowledge and skills, and to facilitate effectiveness in couples and family work. After the speech, participants had the opportunity to interact with GAZİOĞLU and ask questions related to the topic, allowing for a deeper understanding to be developed.
