Sociology Student Club of our university contributed to charity activities in cooperation with Çorbada Tuzun Olsun Association in order to draw attention to the problems faced by homeless individuals. In this context, IMU students helped Çorbada Tuzun Olsun Association to distribute food on Wednesday, December 7, 2023 at 18:30. The event was well attended and the students were very happy to support those in need.
“Çorbada Tuzun Olsun Association” was established with the aim of bringing radical solutions to the causes of the homelessness problem that is ignored in the society. The association distributes food and aids to homeless individuals around Beyoğlu every day with the support of its volunteer donors.
As part of the event, students distributed hot soups prepared by the association to those in need and shared their loneliness by chatting with them. In this way, students had the opportunity to support those in need in the community, while at the same time reinforcing their awareness of social responsibility.
The aim of this activity was to develop our students’ sensitivity and helpfulness towards those in need in society. In addition, our students had the opportunity to socialize by interacting with different people. Thanks to the event, students had the opportunity to understand and listen to the problems of homeless individuals who are ignored and marginalized from the society and to extend a helping hand to these individuals in the fight against poverty.
