IMU Theater Student Club Staged 3 Theater Plays in Kahramanmaraş within the Scope of “Meeting with Earthquake-affected Children” Social Responsibility Projects

Within the scope of the social responsibility project “Meeting with Earthquake-affected Children”, Istanbul Medeniyet University (IMU) Theater Student Club, in cooperation with AFAD and the Ministry of Family and Social Services, held art performances in the container areas of “Baykar Container City”, “Container City on behalf of Necip Fazıl” and “Expo 2023 Container City” in Kahramanmaraş city between 6-8 May 2023. Within the scope of the project, IMU Theater Student Club came together with children affected by the earthquake and left them an unforgettable memory.

Taking action to add some color to the difficult living conditions of children after the earthquake, the IMU Theater Student Club performed the play “Queen Snow and the Remaining Dwarfs” written by themselves in the Kahramanmaraş disaster zone. While the students were able to offer children a world based on imagination and creativity for a short time, they also contributed to local art. At the end of the play, the actors included the children in the play and gave them unforgettable moments.

This valuable activity of the IMU Theater Student Club reflected the values of the IMU family, empathy and solidarity in the best way, together with all our stakeholders who are struggling with the effects of the earthquake as a source of hope for our citizens affected by the earthquake.
