A cooperation protocol was signed between our University, Hatay Governorship, Foundation for the Physically Disabled and Hatay Mustafa Kemal University in order to develop the social entrepreneurship potential of disabled individuals.

At the ceremony held at the Hatay Disabled Social Entrepreneurship Center, the protocol for the project, which aims to provide wound care, nutrition, self-care, food security and hygiene training for disabled people, was signed.

Rector Prof. Dr. Gülfettin Çelik, Rector of Hatay Mustafa Kemal University Prof. Dr. Veysel Eren and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for the Physically Disabled Prof. Dr. Yaşar Tatar attended the signing ceremony.

Officials from stakeholder institutions and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yaşar Bülbül were also present at the ceremony.

In the program to be carried out under the auspices of the Governorship of Hatay, this cooperation model, which encourages the participation of disabled individuals in production processes and is based on social entrepreneurship, is designed to include education, consultancy and applied workshops. The protocol aims to support social benefit-oriented initiatives in the region, improve the competencies of people with disabilities and increase their employment opportunities. These efforts will contribute to preventing social exclusion of people with disabilities and reducing inequalities.

Within the scope of the cooperation, it is planned to contribute to sustainable development goals by ensuring coordination between universities, local governments and public institutions. The projects to be carried out in this direction are expected to produce concrete contributions to social inclusion policies and increase social awareness.
