Istanbul Medeniyet University continues to organize free training and certificate programs to support the professional and personal development of its students.
“Sign Language Tutor and Interpreter” training was organized by our University Department of Library and Documentation to support the self-improvement of our students. The trainings, which were held face-to-face at our University Ziraat Bank Library Bankkart Conference Hall between October 24 and December 20, 2022, were given by Public Education instructor Öznur İNCE. A total of 32 people attended the training, which was free and open to outside participation.
Informations were given to the participants such as establishing the relationship between sign and body language; use of sign language in everyday speech; Basic information on constructing sentences and interpreting in sign language according to the characteristics of Turkish Sign Language.
At the end of the training, which lasted a total of 200 hours, participants were presented with a certificate that will allow them to work as sign language tutors and interpreters.
