Law Workshop Club Visits our Cultural Heritage Exhibited in the Painting Museum

The Painting Museum and Beltaş tour organized by the Law Workshop Club of our university was held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 in Dolmabahçe.

The tour has started with the Painting Museum of National Palaces which hosts the important works of our cultural heritage. In the museum which has around 30 halls, the exhibition of the art works brought to the country during the Ottoman Empire and also the pieces made upon the Sultans’ requests were viewed.

As the authorities explained to our students, the Painting Museum, which is affiliated to the Directorate of National Palaces, started its activities in the Dolmabahçe Palace Crown Prince’s Office, which was built during the reign of Sultan Abdülmecid. A part of the flat was opened to the public as the National Palaces Painting Museum on 22 March 2014 after the restoration works. The museum, which attracted great interest from art lovers, became the only museum that reflects the painting taste of the late Ottoman palace and the formation and development of the first Western painting collection in Turkey.

The second part of the tour was the visit to Beltaş, which operates within Beşiktaş Municipality and hosts many art exhibitions as well as social activities. In scope of the tour, a briefing was given about the works of the foundation. After the tea and coffee service here, the tour program came to an end.
