“Ottoman Turkish” Training was Provided for Free in Our University in Scope of Educational Support for Our Students

Istanbul Medeniyet University continues to organize free training and certificate programs to support the professional and personal development of its students.

“Ottoman Turkish” training was organized by our University Department of Library and Documentation to support the self-improvement of our students. The training, which was held face to face in the Ziraat Bank Library Hasan Polatkan Conference Hall of our University, started on November 24, 2022, with the narration of the Public Education Directorate educator Basri ÇALIŞKAN. A total of 21 people who applied online participated in the training, which was free and open to external participation.

Basic information about Ottoman Turkish and the alphabet; Information about letter conjugations and sound equivalents was conveyed. Especially students studying in departments such as art history, archeology and literature were given the opportunity to conduct research by reading historical documents. After the theoretical training, studies were carried out on the reading of printed works.

At the end of the program, which lasted a total of 40 hours, participants were given certificates by the Public Education Directorate.
