Psychology Club Organized a Training Seminar on Graduate Application Processes

Psychology Club of our university organized an online training seminar called ‘Experience Transfer Series 2: Let’s Listen from the Student’ on May 09, 2021. Nur YÜCEDAĞ, a 4th grade student at 29 Mayıs University, who was the speaker of the event, gave an informative speech about the process of getting a Master’s degree in Organizational Psychology in England.

Doing a master’s degree is of great importance, especially for students of the Department of Psychology, in order to perform the profession in a more qualified and efficient way. During the event, the guest participant’s own process, the paths she went through and what she did in the field of psychology during the undergraduate period were discussed. The importance of developing foreign language, participating in research and writing articles during the undergraduate period was emphasized in the graduate admission process. In the event, a road map was followed in the form of submitting the documents and following the process after obtaining a valid score for the university selection for the master’s degree, the stage of preparing a letter of intent, reference letters, preparing a CV and a language exam.

It was stated that preparing oneself for graduate education starting with a master’s degree from the undergraduate years allows to walk on this path with more solid foundations. It was also mentioned that the fact that many paid/free trainings are also offered online provides a lot of convenience in accessing information, learning a foreign language by taking advantage of these opportunities, doing research by learning about the deficiencies in the literature and participating in trainings will benefit both the self-development of the individual and humanity.

At the end of the event, it was stated that in today’s age, where the experience of those working in the field is very valuable and accessible, listening to the process of a student being accepted to a master’s degree abroad has been an enlightening opportunity for vocational training.
