Prof. Dr. Ali TAN, faculty member of the Turkish Music Department of the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture of our university, conducted a training series titled “Civilization and Music” in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports. In the trainings held in Afyonkarahisar in October 2022, hosted by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, a musical training program was provided to spiritual counselors across the country.
Prof.Dr.Ali TAN made two-day, one-hour presentations within the scope of the training titled Civilization and Music”. These presentations include the basic lines of the concept of civilization, the place of music in the concept of civilization and the areas of use of music today. In this context, it was emphasized that the spiritual consultancy institution has an important role in reaching the young generations of the musical art, and the possibilities of bringing the youth together with the encompassing of art were discussed. At the end of the presentations TAN, presented a ney performance concert to the participants.
At the end of the trainings, in which there was an intense participation, the opportunity to hold a long evaluation meeting with the participants was possible. In this way, spiritual counselors’ questions about art were answered. The training program, attended by Mutlu DOĞAN, head of the Cultural Unit of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, was met with interest.
